There are a few films that you decide you’re gonna like, even before watching them. It doesn’t happen often, but when it happens, it’s like a miracle. There’s nothing in the world that will change that feeling. And that’s exactly what happened to me the first time I watched the preview of “La la land”. I fell in love with it. I was in desperate need to see it immediately.

Then, the London Film Festival came along and made my wait shorter. Instead of January 2017, I ended up watching it in October. Magic! Thank goodness! And it didn’t disappoint me at all. How could it have?

The opening literally hits you and brings you up, especially if you’re watching the film at 10:30am on a Saturday. It puts you in a good mood for the rest of both the film and the day. And from then, it only gets better. I think I said it before, but if I were Eva Mendes, I would be seriously worried about the astonishing chemistry that Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone display. They did in once in “Crazy stupid love” and it was awesome, but this one is epical.

The performances of both actors will grant them nominations, I’m sure of it. Emma Stone won the Volpi Cup and Ryan’s talent won’t go to waste either. They both sing and dance like professionals, but even better, it feels real and authentic. Very moving!

Please, don’t go and see it if you don’t like musicals. This film has the perfect combination between bitter and sweet. Like life itself. Ups and downs. It felt like a combo of Casablanca (in colour), Midnight in Paris and any Vincent Minelli musical (I’m thinking about “Meet me in St.Louis”. It’s colourful but also very realistic, it doesn’t want to tell you a lie and it respects the audience, doesn’t mess around.

How wonderful a love story can be. That’s why I love cinema. It’s the possibility, everything is possible. Like magic, this film plays good tricks but then reality kicks in and then, it recovers towards the ending. It’s totally recommendable to hopeless and incurable romantics, like me. I cried, laughed, enjoyed myself…I firmly believe that back in October, I watched the Oscar for best picture. I will say it here, so whatever happens in February at the Oscars…anyway…I hope I’m not wrong.

Go and see it if you had a bad day, if you believe in love, if you want to be in love…don’t miss this one, cause it’s probably the best film of the year!!!(remember, only if you like musicals)

No sé si os ha pasado alguna vez, pero hay algunas películas decides que te van a gustar, incluso antes haberlas visto. No sucede a menudo, pero cuando pasa, es como un milagro. No hay nada en el mundo que cambie esa decisión tomada. Y eso es exactamente lo que me pasó la primera vez que vi el tráiler de “La la land”. Me enamoré. De repente, tenía la urgente necesidad de verla.

Afortunadamente, el Festival de Cine de Londres hizo mi espera más corta. En lugar de tener que esperar hasta enero de 2017, terminé viéndola en octubre. ¡Magia! ¡Gracias a dios! Y no me decepcionó en absoluto. ¿Cómo podría haberlo hecho?

La secuencia inicial te pone a tono y te sube a las nubes, sobre todo si ves la peli un sábado a las 10:30 de la mañana. Te pone de buen humor para el resto de la película y el día. Y desde el principio, sólo mejora. Creo que lo dije antes, pero si yo fuera Eva Mendes, estaría seriamente preocupada por la asombrosa química que Ryan Gosling y Emma Stone muestran en pantalla. Ya lo demostraron en “Crazy Stupid Love” y fue increíble, pero en esta ocasión estamos hablando de algo épico.

Las actuaciones de ambos actores les van a suponer sendas nominaciones, vamos, que me juego el cuello. Emma Stone ganó la Copa Volpi en Venecia y el talento de Ryan tampoco caerá en el olvido. Ambos cantan y bailan como profesionales, pero aún mejor, es tremendamente real y auténtico. ¡Y muy conmovedor!

Por favor, no vayáis a verla si no os gustan los musicales. Esta película tiene la combinación perfecta entre dulce y amargo. Como la vida misma. Subidas y bajadas. es una mezcla entre Casablanca (en color), Midnight in Paris y cualquier musical de Vincent Minelli (estoy pensando en “Cita en St.Louis”), es colorida pero también muy realista, no quiere contarte una gran mentira y respeta al público, no marea.

Qué maravillosa puede ser una historia de amor. Por eso me encanta el cine. Es una gran promesa. Todo es posible. Al igual que la magia, esta película tiene buenos trucos, pero luego la realidad entra en acción para recuperarse hacia el final. Es totalmente recomendable para los románticos incurables, como yo. Lloré, me reí, me divertí…y un largo etcétera. Creo firmemente que en octubre, vi el Oscar a la mejor película de este año. Lo diré aquí, así que pase lo que pase en febrero en los Oscar…espero no equivocarme.

Id a verla si habéis tenido un mal día, si creéis en el amor, si queréis estar enamorados… no os la perdáis, porque es probablemente la mejor película del año!!! (sólo si os gustan los musicales 😉
